In this course, students will explore the physical, behavioral, cognitive, and developmental disorders relevant to childhood & adolescence. Topics covered include models of development, ethical research and practice, assessment and diagnosis of disorders. Disorders explored are specific to children and adolescents, and include intellectual disorders, learning disabilities, autism spectrum, abuse-, trauma-, and stressor-related disorders, ADHD, conduct disorders, anxiety, OCD, somatic, depressive, bipolar, suicidal intention, eating disorders, substance-use disorders, and disorders related to transitioning to adulthood.
