This course will introduce the student to the richness of diversity within the United States. The course will examine the similarities and differences of people of various racial and cultural heritages. Topics that will be examined include: the origin and effects of prejudice and discrimination, and investigations into the historical experiences of the major racial and ethnic groups in America. Students will have the opportunity to assess their own attitudes regarding the diversity this nation offers. Students will gain information that will assist in improving their ability to relate to people of diverse backgrounds. 3 Cr Hrs. Course Requirement(s): Appropriate Placement Score or ENG0970.
