The student is introduced to the evolution of health information systems and the complexities of data flow. Students will learn the roles, functions, and practices for successfully managing healthcare data as an enterprise set. Students will explore enterprise functions such as data governance, data architecture, metadata management, master data management, data security management, business intelligence, and terminology and classifications systems within healthcare departments or business unit context. Students will apply policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of healthcare data. 3 Cr Hrs. Prerequisite(s): HIT1200 and OIS1240.
