PTA1105/Lecture/01 - PTA Kinesiology & Orthopedic Cnsdrtn | Credits 4.00
This course involves the review of basic functional anatomy and an in-depth analysis of human motion. The biomechanics of each joint will be discussed along with common orthopedic joint dysfunctions, pathologies and special tests. Students will examine the gait cycle and identify possible causes for abnormal gait. An overview of peripheral joint mobilization will be introduced. Detailed goniometry and manual muscle testing will be the focus of lab content. Semester hours: 4 [3 hrs lecture, 3 hrs lab]. Prerequisites: PTA 1000, PTA 1010, PTA 1100, PTA 1102, SCI 1200, and completion of or concurrent enrollment in SCI 1250.
